Happy Hands Vision Statement
Happy Hands Foundation is focussed on enabling children/young people to continue at school. The opportunity for education will benefit them and their whole community. We know that keeping at-risk hill tribe children at school, helps eliminate child labour and the sale of children into drug running and child sex slavery.
Together with our friends at Borderless Friendship Foundation, we found sponsors for 108 hill tribe orphans in northern Thailand in the past 8 months.
On our recent visit to Thailand, Eileen and I had the pleasure of visiting Mr Teerawat’s hostel in the hills, an hour from Chiang Rai, near the Myanmar (Burmese) border. We are arranging sponsorship for 36 underprivileged Akha children to assist with the essentials, including school costs, food, other training opportunities, and transport costs to enable regular visits with family.
So far we have pledged sponsorship for 17 children and need just 19 more to be sponsored. We ask all sponsors to please talk with family and friends and pass on this email as ALL of our sponsorships so far have come from word of mouth.
The Teerawat family have built and managed a hostel for the past 17 years. The children from remote hill communities who live here are proud young boys and girls with dreams of becoming police, doctors, and teachers. Mr Teerawat is very organised and we believe these children, with your support, will reach their dreams.
Borderless Friendship WA and Happy Hands Foundation do NOT deduct any handling fees or administration costs. You can be confident that all your funds reach the children in need.
Please join with friends or family and consider sponsoring a few children – $25 a month per child. Interested please CLICK HERE
Happy Hands Foundation work closely with the wonderful team from Borderless Friendship WA Inc (BFWA). They collaborate with Borderless Friendship Foundation (BFF) in Thailand, to enhance the lives of hill tribe children. They support more than 450 ‘at risk’ children (1/3 of these children are orphans).
The hill tribe people live in remote areas of Northern Thailand with little or no access to education. This lack of education makes these children vulnerable to poverty and exploitation within Thailand’s ubiquitous sex and drug trades. Girls are particularly vulnerable. Those who get an education, grow up able to take much better care of themselves and their families.
Currently we have over 110 children sponsored and are looking to offer scholarship sponsorship to 19 more. Please help by sponsoring one of the children.
Happy Hands Foundation and BFWA do not charge any management or administration fees.
